AYA Yoga & Meditation Center
Introduction
About the Center
Our yoga center is dedicated exclusively to traditional hatha yoga and meditation classes, courses and workshops.
All classes are taught in the authentic 5,000 year old tradition of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, India. By following this ancient lineage, we ensure that our students learn yoga as it was originally meant to be, passed down over the years from the ancient rishis and sages of India.
Keeping this in mind, our goal is to integrate these teachings into a holistic lifestyle for today’s modern world – so that our students receive the significant benefits of a yoga practice which is backed up by an ancient lineage, and yet is still applicable to modern daily life.
Sita is the director of the center. She and all other teachers are certified in the tradition of Swami Sivananda.
We look forward to seeing you in class soon.
A kind word said to a suffering man, is charity. Swami Sivananda
Karma Yoga
The AYA, and the AYA Yoga and Meditation Center, is a non-profit organization. We depend on volunteers like you to help with many and varied tasks. This can include things like post office deliveries, office work, general cleanup, and boutique activities.
If you might be interested in helping to volunteer some of your time and talents at the center please contact Sita.
Pictured above are some of our wonderful karma yoginis, coming from as far away as Houston and San Antonio to help out.
Store
At the AYA Center we offer a complete line of traditional hatha yoga books and accessories.
We carry over 100 titles by Swami Sivananda, and many more books on a variety of yoga topics by other authors. We also have meditation supplies, shawls, audio cds, health and beauty items, incense, and more.
In addition to all these products our online store also allows you to register for some of our courses and workshops. Unfortunately, our online store is temporarily down and will reopen in a few weeks.
AYA Center boutique hours are before and after all yoga classes and events or by appointment. Please call 512-388-1162 for more information.
