Spiritual Diary
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the data in the spiritual diary private?
Yes. Entries are stored in a database that does not correspond readily by user name. This raw data is only accessible by the web master and no other users. Your data is private and for your spiritual advancement only.
Do I have to do yoga to use the spiritual diary?
No. The diary is set up in such a way that no matter what path your spiritual journey lies on, you can use the diary.
Can I define the fields to keep track of my practice any way I want?
Yes. For example, if you are a yogi you might want to define fields to keep track of meditation, pranayama, asanas and spiritual readings (swadhyaya). If you are a Buddhist you might want to track prostrations, meditation, puja, etc.
Do I have to have a user id at AYA to use the spiritual diary?
Yes. Please go to yoga108.org, and click on login. If you do not yet have an id, you will be provided with instructions.
Do I have to enter numbers in the diary every day?
No. While one of the main goals of keeping a spiritual diary is to help sustain regularity in daily practice, the most important thing is to be regular at whatever your practice is. If that means you are only able at this time to practice 3 times a week, then that is what you should do.
If you regularly maintain a diary, you will get solace, peace of mind and quick progress in the spiritual path. Swami Sivananda
Can I enter data for yesterday or other previous days?
Yes. If for some reason you are unable to enter your data every day, the spiritual diary allows for you to enter and change data from previous days. This is especially helpful if you are on vacation or away from your computer. You can keep track of the data and then add it later when you have time.
Do I have to enter numbers in every field in my diary every day?
No. You just record what you do each day in the appropriate fields and leave the other fields blank.
Can a sadhana category be renamed without losing the data?
Yes. The names of the fields can be changed as often as you like without loss of any data.
