- Truthfulness.
- The second of the yamas of raja yoga.
Additional Explanation(s)
Satya is truthfulness. A truthful person will be free from many worries and anxieties because their thoughts, words and actions will be in agreement with eachother. Since God and man's true Self are truth, one can only realize the truth by speaking, thinking and acting truthfully. In being truthful one should not hurt someone's feelings or cause them to do something bad.
