    Word 'asteya'

    1. Non-stealing.
    2. The fourth of the yamas of raja yoga.

    Additional Explanation(s)

The main meaning of asteya is mostly self-explanatory, but it is also important to remember the idea of being content with the things that come to you by honest means. By constantly dwelling on things other people have and you don't have, after awhile the thought of taking something that doesn't belong to you becomes more acceptable to the mind, which can in turn lead to actual theft. As for all things, self-analysis will be necessary to catch the subtle lower tendencies of our mind.
