    The main characteristics of rajas as seen in a person are restlessness, desire, longing, attachment, greed and agitation.

    Foods which can be described as rajasic are those which are bitter, sour, excessively salty, excessively hot and spicy, pungent, burning and dry. Examples of rajasic foods are onions, garlic, coffee, meat, fish and eggs. Eating foods of this type will increase rajas.
