In Jyotish, Indian astrology, many time cycles are recognized, from very short to very long.
The longest ones are called yugas. Of the four yugas, the kali yuga is the shortest and lasts 432,000 years and we stand at the beginning of it.
Not to be confused with the Goddess Kali.
