Lots of Yoga in Levoča
This trip in Slovakia is going as good, or even better, as it could have.
I wish I had more time to share my impressions and photos here but today will be a busy day again.
As soon as I arrived at the Bratislava airport I felt somewhat comfortable in these surroundings. Everybody I meet via my 'guide' Eva is friendly and engaging. Since then I have been under the charm of this great example of Slavic culture.
The gist is that everything feels so right and the house that Eva owns and showed me fits so well our purpose is that I will move there sometimes next year when the house renovations will be done.
So besides the yoga and meditation center in Austin and the few affiliates the Advaita Yoga Ashrama will have a tiny ashram in Levoča, Slovakia.
This is our future home. Posing are Eva, the owner of the house, and Jozef, friend and the one fixing up the house. You can see the new windows. Work still remains to be done on the front and inside.
Teaching a Satsang Tonight in Levoča
But besides this, in only two days we were treated to bigger surprise. We learned through a friend that the local pharmacist had been to India a number of times. Furthermore we saw a sign in town pointing to a vegetarian restaurant. Unexpected but very welcome surprise. Upon eating there we learn that the restaurant and the pharmacy were linked by a common owner and that the local yoga community was behind this restaurant.
Anyway to make an amusing story short, we met with the gentleman who runs the restaurant and pharmacy as well as the local yoga center. Not only a yoga center but a place where people practice true 'spiritual' yoga as opposed to just exercise.
We visited the local ashram in construction in a wonderful spot on top of a close-by hill and with a stunning panoramic view. During a walk we took in the hills I was invited to give a meditation/satsang to their group. So tonight we'll have a program together.
